Attracting Birds and Butterflies to the North Coast Pacific Garden
If your garden is impeccably manicured, it's not a paradise for birds or
butterflies.
The garden that approximates a wild and natural environment is far more
likely to catch their attention. Let nature take the lead. Choose plants
that will attract them, and arrange them to suit their needs. Go easy on the
chemicals, it kills them also.
Any animal's needs are simple: food,
shelter (including
nesting habitat),
and water. Give them a sense of welcome and encourage greater numbers and
varieties of them to stop by.
Butterflies need similar requirements: food, shelter, and water.
